ASODEBI

The Association for the Development in the Bercaina Region, or ASODEBI, is a Local Action Group formed by public institutions, business groups and industry associations from social, tourism, cultural, agrifood and environmental sectors, and socioeconomic groups that have a clear social and/or economic effect on the development of the El Bierzo region. Moreover, ASODEBI collaborates with relevant and and representative entities in the region.

ASODEBI’s objective is to promote economic, social, environmental, sustainable and overall development based on the rational and balanced use of the region’s internal resources, with the goal of improving and respecting the heritage of the area in which the Association works; another objective is to Foster plural, participatory and sustainable development through activities and events open to the entire population.

ASODEBI began supporting rural development with the execution of the PRODERCAL Programme in the El Bierzo region, in which sustainable growth and development is fostered through the implementation of numerous initiatives, both creation of new ones and consolidation and development of those already existing ones that have created jobs, especially for women and young people in rural areas; private and public initiatives belonging to various sectors: small- and medium-sized businesses, services for the population, cultural and architectural heritage, the environment, agricultural food production, tourism, etc.
