Justification for our participation in the TRINO project

Two of the objectives of MACOVALL 2000 are to preserve the region’s natural resources and foster respect for the environment.

The aim of MACOVALL 2000’s participation in the TRINO cooperation project is to achieve sustainable exploitation of natural resources, and more specifically related to birds, through their study and conservation. This sustainable exploitation will mean the generation of new income in rural areas, including those that are linked to the tourism sector.

The Valles de Benavente region represents an intersection where some of the principal rivers of the northwestern River Duero basin converge. More than 40 bird species can be found in these aquatic areas, with the most representative being, among others, the Eurasian kingfisher, sand martin, European bee-eater, Eurasian tree sparrow, wagtails, etc.
