The Nordeste de Salamanca (Northeast Salamanca) Association has worked since 1999 to promote and sustain local development in an area that comprises 90 municipalities in the northwest part of Salamanca through the execution of programmes and projects in collaboration with public institutions at different levels: the European Union, federal, autonomous communities, provinces, etc. Its tasks since that date have been to make the population more dynamic and aware of sustainable development, fostering participation and mutual social responsibility through the implementation of an ascending participation method.
